Taiwan's didnt start until '86 and had the DS6 serial numbers.some '85s were made in Japan and yes do also have the 3 holes and would also sport the G5, but some '86s have the G5 serial as well and this is for discussion of '86 only Sorry i did mean Japan not Taiwan. The ones you see with 4 holes in rear drops and the FS and serial number stamped in drop out were 'apparently' 84 framesets that were left over by the US fabricators and then re-issued in 86 with the insertion of the extra hole to make them look ike 86 framesets. Not sure how true this is. But it would make sense. A member of a UK site had one of these and we didnt understand why he would have an 84 frameset with 4 holes in. When he showed us the pics of the bike before the resto it was a clearly a 86 spec bike. Thats incorrect. You can tell the differences in an 84-86.
